Closed Beta of ‘Skull and Bones’ Scheduled for August

Ubisoft has assured fans that Skull and Bones is still in development and will be offering a closed beta to demonstrate its progress. From August 25th to 28th, interested players can sign up for the beta on the game’s website. The beta will be accessible on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with the full game also being released on Amazon Luna. Ubisoft announced the beta with a sea shanty performance.

To give you an idea of how long the game has been in the works, we got our first look at it at E3 2017. The Skull and Bones development process has reportedly been stormier than any stormy sea. The game has been delayed several times by Ubisoft and is currently scheduled to arrive by the end of March 2024, about five years behind schedule.

Skull and Bones sees you take control of a pirate ship. You can team up with friends to sail the high seas in an open world (the entire game is playable in co-op) and take on other players in your quest to become a legendary pirate. You have to keep your crew happy as you get your hands on bigger and bigger ships. Here’s hoping it’s all worth the wait.
